The Knights of St. John International and the Ghana National Catholic Youth Council, (GHANCYC) are up in arms against social media commentator Kevin Taylor for insulting members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
Kevin Taylor in a recent video that went viral alleged that the Catholic Bishops behaved like politicians and attributed same to them to being sex-starved.
His attack followed media reports that suggested that the Bishops were ready to mount a campaign against the NDC after the party failed to append its signature to a pact aimed at disbanding political vigilantes in the country.
The Knights of St. John International and the Ghana National Catholic Youth Council in separate press releases have condemned what they describe as unwarranted insults on the leaders of the Church and have declared support for the hinted actions to be taken against political parties who fail to disband vigilantes.
While condemning the use of foul language in the video by Kevin Taylor, the KSJI stated their “unflinching support for our Bishops and clergy in general and encourage them to disregard such distractive comments and remain focused on their individual and collective efforts towards shepherding their flock, as well as helping promote peace and good governance in the country. They have done this effectively and successfully in the past and should continue to do the same in spite of all the distractions.”
