KSJI installs CCTV surveillance system for OLA parish

Knights of St John International Commandery #619 and Ladies Auxiliary #554 of Our Lady of Assumption (OLA),New Achimota has donated a Closed-Circuit Television ( CCTV) surveillance system to the parish.

The project which cost Gh12,000 was undertaken to strengthen security at the parish premises.

Worthy President, George Torkutsah tells Angelus news the project was birthed three year’s back when issues of theft became a rampant occurrence at the parish.

He said “about three year’s ago, looking at the security threat of the church, there’s attack left and right from everywhere and also petty thievery within the environment, we realise the need to donate this to the church.”

The project started last year and was handed over to the parish this year on the feast day of the parish.

Speaking on future plans of the Commandery and Auxiliary, Worthy President, George Torkutsah says his administration is planning on setting up “a small business unit within the church just to provide small employment to our youth.”
