Sekondi-Takoradi : Ss. Francis, Anthony book Brain Battle Quiz nationals slot

The Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese has had its feel of the regional level Brain Battle Quiz competition to enable contestants progress to the national level in November.

The competition which brought together various Catholic schools in the Western Region saw the likes of St. Mary’s Catholic J. H.S, Nsuta St. Peter’s Catholic J. H. S, Ketan, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic J.H.S, Kwesimintsim and St. Francis of Assisi J. H. S, Anaji compete to represent the region at the national level.

The contest ended with St Anthony of Padua and St Francis of Assisi booking a place for the national championship in Accra where they would face other regional champions.

Speaking at the event, the Regional Manager for Catholic Education Unit, Madam Rosemond Austin indicated that the winning schools deserved the slot for the national level and further reiterated that, the region would win the ultimate prize.

‘The two schools are good. In fact, they should expect us bringing the trophy all the way from Accra to western region. We are bringing it down to Oil city’ she said.

The Brain Battle Quiz is being organised by the Catholic Education Directorate in collaboration with Cocktail Media. The quiz seeks to bring pupils in the Catholic Junior High Schools together through healthy competition in the disciplines of Science, Mathematics and Technology with the ultimate winning school taking GHȼ10,000.00 and a trip to China.
