The Catholic Bishop of Ho, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, has donated items to inmates of the Ho Leprosarium in the Volta Region of Ghana.
The items included some pharmaceutical products, baby walker,s and second-hand clothes.
Bishop Fianu stated that this gesture is in fulfillment of his pledge to periodically reach out to the underprivileged in society, especially those in his diocese. The bishop called on all to endeavor to show love and care to marginalized groups in our communities as Jesus Christ, our savour taught us.
The Caretaker of the leprosarium, Mr. Nelson, who received the items on behalf of the inmates thanked Bishop Fianu for his visits and continuous show of generosity to the leprosarium. Mr. Nelson used the opportunity to appeal to all other bodies, groups, and organizations to come and support them to have a fulfilled life and dignity in society.
