SECAM Staff celebrate SECAM DAY 2020

The Management and staff of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar, SECAM, Secretariat have joined the Bishops of Africa and the entire Church-family of God in Africa to thank God and to pray for the Church in Africa.

This was at a Eucharist Celebration officiated by the Vicar General of the Accra Archdiocese, Ghana, Very Rev. Fr. John Louis on Wednesday, 29th July 2020 to mark SECAM Day.

In his Homily, Very Rev. Fr. John Louis said it was necessary to sincerely be grateful to God for every gift and that every Eucharistic celebration should be an opportunity to thank God for what he is continually doing for the Church. He further added that each anniversary of SECAM should be an occasion to appreciate what the Lord is doing through SECAM for the Church in Africa.

He prayed that the growth of SECAM may inspire the Church in Africa for greater heights.

The Secretary General of SECAM, Rev. Terwase Henry Akaabiam read the SECAM DAY Message of the SECAM President, Philippe Cardinal Ouédraogo, to the Staff of the Secretariat. He thanked God for His blessings over the years and on behalf of the President, expressed appreciation to all who have been committed to SECAM and to Evangelization throughout the Continent.

He subsequently called on the staff not to despair in the face of COVID-19 and its challenges but rather have courage, be each other’s keeper while relying on the power of the Holy Spirit.

The staff after the Holy Mass joined in a family meal to celebrate the day.
