On the 4th October, 2020 at the St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, Lashibi, there was a welcome Mass for the newly appointed Youth and Vocations Director, Rev. Fr. Januarius Akpabli.

He took over from Rev. Fr. Osmund Kudoloh.

In attendance was the Archdiocesan Youth Council Chairman, Bro. Anthony Ngissah Assuah and the Assisting Youth and Vocations Director, Rev. Fr. Alphonse Bulloro.

It was a very warm welcoming Mass in which the Youth and Vocations Director admonished all in his homily to fill the mind with truth, be noble, good and pure, love and honour, and finally called on all to keep doing things thought virtuous or worthy of praise.

The Church Pastoral Council Chairperson, Mrs. Rebecca Forson of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, Lashibi welcomed Fr. Januarius on behalf of the community and assured Fr. Januarius of their support and collaboration as a community.

The Archdiocesan Youth Council Chairman, Bro. Anthony Ngissah Assuah on behalf of the Youth welcomed Fr. Januarius to the Youth and Vocations office and called on him to exercise a lot of patience with the youth and tolerate our youthful exuberance.

He pledged the youth’s support and cooperation with Father and presented to him the Youth Cross as one of the symbols for the youth during World Youth Day celebrations.

He indicated that it is a symbol of Christ’s love for humanity, and it announces to everyone that only in the death and resurrection of Christ can we find salvation and redemption.”

He called on all youth in the Archdiocese and beyond to be guided by the meaning of the cross in all they do.

The icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, symbol of the protection of Mary, who always accompanies her Son, was also presented to the new Archdiocesan Youth Chaplain.

Bro. Anthony Ngissah Assuah thanked Fr. Osmund Kudoloh for his service over the years and wished him well in his new appointment as Parish Priest of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Kaneshie.
