St. Augustine Youth Charged to be Steadfast in Worship to Enjoy God’s Favour

The youth of St. Augustine Parish in Ashaiman have been charged to remain steadfast in their worship. They were told that worshiping God is a sure way to continuously enjoy the favour of God.

The call was made by the Parish Youth Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Ergidius Binsasi SVD, when the youth council held their annual Christmas Choral concert dubbed, “Moment of Worship 2020, choral edition”. The event which took place on Sunday, 20 December on the church premises was on the theme, “With praise and thanksgiving, they sang to the Lord…” Ezra 3:11.

Fr. Binsasi advised the youth to stay focused in life. He also cautioned them against contracting COVID-19 during the Christmas celebration and beyond.

In an interview, a member of the planning committee, Francis Inkoom told Radio Angelus that the decision to do choral music on such occasion was to appreciate the works of local choral music composers.

According to him, choral songs are more enriched with faith based and gospel messages than some contemporary songs.

The event formed part of the Parish Youth Council’s end of year spiritual activities to prepare the youth ahead of the yuletide.
