MAURICE CATHOLIC CHURCH, LA, GETS A NEW PPC CHAIRMAN, 2023 – 2024

Mr Anthony Ngissah Assuah, the Immediate Past Archdiocesan Youth Council (AADCYC) Chairman, elected and inducted into office as the Parish Pastoral Council Chairman of St. Maurice Catholic Church La.

 

He becomes the 20th PPC Chairman of the 84years old Church.

The Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Mark Mandela Anyibah in his homily admonished the new Council to allow the Word of God permeate every aspect of their life. He called on them to live good lives and make Christ the center of everything they do as Councilors.

Inducting into office on the 12th February 2023, the 28 member Councilors with Mr. Anthony Ngissah Assuah as the Chairman, Mr. Gabriel Wadeyir Tantuoyir as the Vice Chairman,  Mr. Cyril Ashirifi Nai as Secretary, Mrs. Marjorie Mensah Akatey and Miss Marian Nortey as Assistant Secretaries. Fr. Joseph Henry Mensah, the Parish Priest, asked them to be zealous in the discharge of their duties as Councilors and assured them of his maximum cooperation to move the Parish to a higher pedestal. He finally admonished the new members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) of the Parish to be courageous in sacrificing their lives as leaders to proclaim the message of Christ.

St. Maurice Catholic Church can be found in the La community, a suburb called Agyeman. The church began in the small living room of late Mr. Emmanuel Boi Nai in 1939. It is one of the very vibrant church communities within the Archdiocese of Accra.
