Live up to the demands of your celibate vocation- Bishop Okpaleke to six newly ordained deacons

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia (CADEK), Most Rev Peter Ebere Okpaleke, at St Joseph’s Cathedral Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA, Anambra State, today, Saturday, December 19, 2020, ordained six young men as foundation deacons of the nine months old new Ekwulobia Diocese.

It was on the occasion of the historic first Diaconal Ordination of CADEK.

The Catholic prelate also at the event, installed eight seminarians as acolytes, and two as lectors.

Leading in the concelebrated ordination Mass, the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Most Rev Okpaleke, in his homily, enjoined the newly ordained deacons to live up to the demands of their celibate vocation, as well as uphold the vows which they took.

The foundation deacons were Pius Egwu, St Patrick’s Parish, Umuchu; Kingsley Ezenekwe, St Theresa’s Parish, Oko; Bedemore Ezeagu, St Flannan’s Parish, Igbo-ukwu; Anthony Okoro, St Michael’s Parish, Uga; Stephen Chete, St Vincent’s Parish, Uga and Collins Ezeanuna, CM, Immaculate Heart Parish, Uga.
