Children of the Pontifical Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church – Sakumono, celebrated the Missionary Childhood Sunday under the theme “You shall be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8) from the 6th – 13th February, 2022.

Activities to mark the week included the Launch and meeting with the Parents which was held on the 6th February, 2022. Series of selected talks and discussion topics were shared on social media platforms during to enable Parents bond with their children and learn more about being a witness of Christ.

To end the weeklong celebration, Children together with their Animators went for a Street Evangelization on Saturday 12th February, 2022 within the environs of the Sakumono Township amidst brass band music carrying placards with messages from the Holy Bible.

The thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Sylvester Segbawu on 13th February, 2022. Children were colorfully adorned in their M.C.A T-shirts. They also played an active role in the Mass, taking up the Singing, Ushering, Reading and Altar Serving. After Mass, children visited the Kressner Handmaids Orphanage ran by the HDR Sisters at Otaten near Ardeyman on the Amasaman-Obom to spend time and support the Children at the orphanage with some gifts as their motto Children Helping Children.
