Dzodze: Catholic Married Couples Association marks Holy Family Day

The Dzodze Catholic Married Couples Association of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Dzodze on Sunday, 29th December 2019 came together to celebrate the Solemnity of the Holy Family with the  Bishop of the Keta-Akatsi Diocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji.

The Holy Mass was presided over by the Bishop, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji and concelebrating priests were the Vicar General and the Parish Priest Very Rev. Fr. Peter Huletey and assistant Parish Priest, Rev.Fr Edwin Edem Fiawornu.

The homilist of the celebration, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji urged the congregants to imitate and practice a good example of the Holy Family. He again stated that the family is the foundation of the Church for the good up bring of the children for moral life, good social and religious life. According to him, doing this will help with the continuity of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.

Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji stressed that the church is against polygamy, homosexuality, and gay and cautioned all members to stay away from such practices.

He again urged wives to be humble, husbands to love and children to learn to obey. He added that, for the family to keep going, each and everyone in the family should learn to be humble.

To the families, he told the congregants to allow Christ and teachings to be the light in their homes and doing this will lead to love which will bind the family together as one. “the family that prays together stays together as one” he said.

Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Dzodze on Sunday, 29th December 2019 had one hundred and five(105)catechumen confirmed by the Bishop of the Keta-Akatsi Diocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji.

Dzodze Catholic Married Couples Association of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (DZOCAMACA), Dzodze is an association with the sole aim to bring together all married couples both young and old in the parish and its outstations under one umbrella in order to help build each other and the Catholic Church at large with the biblical responsibility to practice the virtues of the Holy matrimony and also to be good example for others to bless their marriages in the church.

Most Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, during an interaction with members of DZOCAMACA encouraged them to nurture the upcoming couples to have marriages blessed in the church and further reiterated that, it is on the heart of the Pope to have all marriages blessed in the church.

Mrs. Lena Kudevo on behalf of Dzodze Catholic Married Couples in Association of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church made a donation of an undisclosed amount to the Bishop for developmental works in the Diocese.

The Church Council and the Catholic Women Association of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Dzodze respectively also made a donation to the Bishop.
