Zone 3 Pax Romana Ladies Summit held in Akatsi

The International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS) Pax Romana Zone 3 last weekend held its Zonal Ladies Summit (ZLS) at the Akatsi Pastoral Center in the Keta Akatsi Diocese in the Volta region.

This year’s summit which was on the theme, ‘Mary, the model of every Pax Member’, attracted over hundred students from various tertiary institutions and was held from Thursday,21st to Sunday, 23rd February, 2020.

Speaking on the theme, the secretary to the bishop of Keta Akatsi Diocese, Rev. Fr. Reuben Adzakey, told participants and all Catholic Students that the ‘sophisticated’ nature of our world now demands that they become more responsible and restrict themselves from doing lots of things that defile their Christian principles.

“We now live in a sophisticated world with admirations of a lot of things. Mary being our model means we have to restrict ourselves from a lot of things,” he said.

He called on Catholic students to be fearless and strong in their faith, just like the Virgin Mary.

This year’s ZLS was activity-packed, ranging from educative ones to entertaining and social programs.

There were also two skills training sessions on the use of coral draw and on using fabrics as designs on shirts on Friday and Saturday respectively.
The summit was climaxed with a thanksgiving Mass on Sunday at the Akatsi Pastoral Center.

Zonal Ladies Summit is an annual 3 day summit that brings Catholic students from the various tertiary institutions within Greater Accra, Volta and Eastern regions together to learn, share experience and fraternize.

This year’s summit featured students from Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), University of Ghana (UG), University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), Accra Technical University (ATU), Ho Technical University (HTU), Koforudua Technical University (KTU) and Ohawo Agric College.
