The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra on Friday, 11 February 2022 held a synod on synodality for some selected Missionary Animators in the Archdiocese. They were drawn from all the deaneries in the Archdiocese. The event was held at the Youth Formation Centre / St Raphael Catholic Church, Lashibi.
The event, also known as the synod consultation process, was led by the Archdiocesan Contact Person, Rev Fr John Patrick Tindana. He urged the participants to see the synod as more of a spiritual activity than a talk shop.
The main activities of the day were Bible sharing from Luke 9:1-6 (Jesus sending out the Twelve), and the answering of the synod questions. For these two activities, the participants were split into small groups to share and discuss the issues at stake. This was to give room for all to have the opportunity to speak.
After the group discussion of the synod questions, the house reconvened together and the recorders of each group reported on the fruits of their discussions. These would be compiled to serve as the synthesis of the synodal consultation.
