St Raphael parish to spread smiles with TalentFest this August

The Church as an institution in society is made up of people with variety of talents. From the soothing voices of the choir, to the instrumentalists bringing out some good sounds. How then can these various talents be utilized to bring families in the church together?

It is in this spirit of unity and family that the youth group and children service animators of the St Raphael Catholic Community in Lashibi, Tema has birthed the idea of a TalentFest as an avenue for parishioners to use their God-given talents to bring smiles, spread good cheer and love among one another.

The event scheduled to take place on August 10 is on the theme; ‘Serving all faithfully with our God given talents’. The event would see the men’s group soothing ears to a musical performance for the women’s fellowship to display their dance moves in a choreography as the children take the world as a stage to rule the catwalk.

With all these lined up plus some surprises, the event is expected to be a time of bonding, joy and lots of laughter. The rational for the Talentfest  the organisers explain, can be summed up in the words of Chinua Achebe, “when we gather together in the moonlit village ground it is not because of the moon. Every man can see it in his own compound. We come together because it is good for kinsmen to do so”
