St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashongman Estates Inducts New PYC

The St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashongman Estate, Accra held it’s handing over and induction ceremony for its newly elected Parish Youth Council (PYC) on Sunday, the 7th of February, 2021.

The solemn event was characterized by a brief “SWOT” report on the activities of the previous administration by the out-going president, Charles Adiyiah-Kusi Jnr where he admonished the church members, both young and old, to rally behind the PYC and ensure that every member contributes to the success of the youth body.

The out-going PYC President also challenged them to be committed to their respective role and be proactive in fishing out new members to join the youth body. He also reminded them that the executive positions they hold offers them free leadership training that will help them become better leaders in whichever endeavor they are engaged in.

Before taking their oaths, the Priest-In-Charge of St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashongman Estates, Accra, Rev. Fr. Precious Franklin Nutsugah admonished the new leaders to lead by example. He mentioned that if they as leaders show commitment to the affairs of the youth and the church, the rest of the youth body will follow their example.

The newly sworn-in President, Mrs. Louisa Adiyiah-Kusi who happens to be the first female Youth President of St Mark Catholic church expressed her appreciation to all for the vote of confidence in her. She promised to lead her team to be able to build on the good legacy they had inherited from the previous administration. She also hit the ground running by announcing that coming Sunday, the 14th of February, 2021 which happens to be St Valentine’s day will be commemorated with a “Touch of Red Slay Day” where she encouraged as many as possible to dress with a touch of red for church and expect some pleasant surprises from the PYC.
