St. John the Baptist Parish calls Parishioners home for Golden Jubilee celebration

The third homecoming summit of Ghanaians in the Diaspora was held earlier this month in Accra to celebrate the Ghana diasporans and commemorate the 400thanniversary of the arrival of the first 20 West African slaves in the United States of America.

History indeed is always retold during such summits giving the opportunity to those who are not abreast with the general history.

It is in the spirit of the year of return that the St. John the Baptist Parish- Odorkor, is calling sons and daughters of the Parish to a homecoming and business fair on August 11, 2019 to welcome all parishioners who have gone far and wide, back to the parish to see the progress of work, relieve the past, enjoy the current moment and raise funds for a Parish Grotto.

The day would kick start with the celebration of mass then a fair for all parishioners and the public to exhibit their businesses.

The homecoming and business fair forms part of activities commemorating the 50 years’ anniversary of the Parish and would take place at the parish premises. The 50 years’ anniversary is a year-long celebration which started with church orientation and revival in January, Lenten retreat in March and passion week celebrations in April.

May was tagged the ‘Health month’ with activities such as a health walk and societal fun games then a mega float, evangelization and hospital donation were organized in June. To equip the youth with knowledge on entrepreneurship, a business summit dubbed ‘Teddex Odorkor 2019’ was organized in July.

September to December would see activities such as church revival, grotto dedication, remembrance day and a mega musical summit &dinner being organized.
