Rome’s largest hospital treating coronavirus patients receives Rosaries from Cardinal Turkson

Cardinal Peter  Appiah Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development,  on Friday March 3rd gave out rosaries blessed by the Holy Father Pope Francis to patients of coronavirus in Agostino Gemelli University Polyclinic, Rome’s largest general hospital and a teaching hospital for the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan.

Cardinal Turkson in the company of his outfit’s two undersecretaries met with staff of the health facility and gave out the rosaries extending the Pope’s warm regards and the church’s  assured spiritual support amidst the crisis to staff and patient hit by the pandemic.

“I bring you the Pope’s embrace. You are not alone in the fight against the coronavirus!”, he told  patients and staff of the hospital.

On Friday April 2, a rosary for an end to the coronavirus was broadcast live on national Italian television from the St Joseph Moscati chapel of the Gemelli hospital and  concluded with a prayer for the intercession of Pope St John Paul II on the anniversary of his death.
