Pax Romana GIJ Local gets accreditation

The Ghana Institute of Journalism Local of the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS) Pax Romana has been accredited in a ceremony held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the St James Catholic Church in Osu.

The accreditation comes as a recognition of the Local as a member of the Ghana Federation of IMCS Pax Romana.

Presenting the accreditation to the Local, the Chairperson of the Judicial Committee of the Ghana Federation, (Justice) Janet Ruth Mawuena Sosu charged the Local to persevere in faith and trust in the divine Providence of God.
She congratulated, the executives, past and present who worked hard for the accreditation.

The president of the local, Miss Felicia Kwarteng, with assistance from her vice, Isaac Piyuori and the women’s commissioner, miss Emelia Sommeah received the accreditation and were subsequently sworn.

The local was declared duly accredited after the president took the oath of office, recited the prayer of accreditation and the Pax Romana Anthem sung.

The ceremony also saw the induction of Mr. Tim Quarshigah, Mrs. Auguster Otieku Baah, Mr. George Asamoah, Mrs. Eva Nutusga as patrons and patroness of the local.

The president, Miss Felicia Kwarteng in a speech, expressed profound gratitude to God and all who worked towards the accreditation of the local, most especially, Rev. Frs. Prince Emmanuel Adelaayitar, Emmanuel Obeng Codjoe and the founding executives and members of the Local and the St James community for accepting the local.

The ceremony was attended by members of the local and executives from the National and Zonal office and sister schools and presided over by Fr Emmanuel Obeng Codjoe and Fr. Delight Carbonou
