Nigeria: Onitsha Archdiocesan Priests hold first Plenary Assembly

The Onitsha Archdiocesan Priests on Wednesday February 12, 2020 held their first Plenary meeting for the year at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Anambra state to thank God for the close of the previous year and usher themselves into a “fruitful year”.

The meeting plenary was chaired by the Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha and Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev Valerian Okeke.

The event brought together priests within the Onitsha Archdiocese to “give thanks to God for the many blessings received in the previous year we also thank him for the new year and the promises that it holds”.

The prelate noted in his speech to the priests that “for us Priests, we pray that the grace of the Lord will make us daily less unworthy of our exalted vocation through Christ our Lord” and called on the Catholic faithful to journey with them in their vocation with prayers.

We pray that the blessings of this year and beyond would be glorious, He added.
