On Sunday, 12th December, 2021 at Assumption Catholic Church, Sogakope Agorkpo, in a Mass Presided over by Most. Rev. Gabriel Edoe Kumordzi, SVD Bishop of Keta – Akatsi Diocese, Msgr. Peter Huletey was installed the Parish Priest in accordance with Can. 515 #1, 519 and 530.
Bishop Kumordzi in his homily asked the parishioners to give needed support to their new pastor. He charged the faithful to be each other’s keeper, check on each other frequently, and pray for each other.
Msgr Peter Huletey who is the Vicar General of the Diocese, was ordained a priest on 7th December, 1985. He previously worked as Parish Priest at Ss Peter and Paul Parish, Dzodze. He will be assisted by Rev. Fr. Selormey Pascal Innocent
In his first address, he thanked God for his blessings for his Priestly journey, thanked his colleague priests who worked in Sogakope in the then Keta-Ho Diocese, and Keta-Akatsi Diocese. He thanked the Chiefs and people of Sogakope who received the Catholic Faith through the early missionaries and has kept it alive till now. He assured the congregation that with them and his assistant they shall work in love, harmony and live in unity for the common goal, which is to make it to heaven.
Holy Cross, Sogakope has 5 outstations namely St. Michael Catholic Church, Hlevi. St. Paul Catholic Church, Detsawome. Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fievie, Sasekope and Yorkutikpo.
