London Regional Council and Court support seminary

In August, the London Regional Council and Court presented a cheque to Monsignor Gerald Ewing, Rector of St John’s Catholic Seminary, Guildford, England, in support of the training of priests.

Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions, the group could not go to the Seminary, so the visit took place outside Southwark Cathedral in London.

This is one of many charitable activities carried out in the London Region – a result of various fund-raising events held in London just before the pandemic.

Representing the Council were the Deputy Regional Grand Knight, Bro Paul Mensah, and Sir Kt Bro. Peter Achampong.
The Court was represented by the Regional Noble Lady, RL Sister Benedicta Blankson, the Regional Secretary, Sister Philomena Amoo Eshun, and other officers.

The Seminary was established in 1891 and serves mainly the dioceses of the South of England. Since 1985 it has also offered causes in theology for lay (external) students.
