LAUNCH OF THE WELFARE FUND FOR ST. ANTHONY COMMANDERY No. 405

The St. Anthony Commandery No. 405- Tema of the Knights of St John International has launched a Welfare. The fund which is to serve as a special purpose vehicle, with dedicated funds is to address challenges members are faced with be it social or economic difficulties.

The fund is structured to be financially sustainable to span many administrations, and to help strengthen the base of members and also, make them financially stable. Launching the fund at its July Regular Meeting the Worthy President, Lt. Philip Opoku Mensah emphasized that, the Welfare members has always been part of his agenda to uplift the Commandery as we prepare to celebrate 50th years of existence in Tema. He therefore, lauded the setting up of the Welfare Fund.
Strong and sustainable financial resources is critical to the success of every society therefore just as feeling the strong heat on finances due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Welfare Fund has been timely. He added we must sharp the Commandery to build a sustainable future. That is why we should discuss the welfare because it is linked to the survival of members of the Commandery. If the Commandery remains unattractive because it is not in the position to help its members it is very difficult to sustain the Commandery. It is important that we see ourselves as selfless; selflessly to build our Commandery, selflessly for the welfare of the people.
The 2nd Vice President Lt. Albert Assan stated that the setting up of the welfare fund was apt and will be structured to live up to its intended purpose. He pledged his full support to the Welfare Fund.
Present at the Launch were Brig. Gen. Anthony Chinebuah, Supreme Subordinate Trustee and Lt Col. Augustine Opoku Mensah, Past Worthy President
