KSJI SUPPORTS ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, OSU-RE

Members of the St. James Commandery # 847 and Ladies Auxiliary # 720, Osu-Re of the Knights and Ladies of St. John International recently donated sanitary items to help reduce the spread of Covid 19 and promote good hygiene. .

The donation worth over GH¢2,000 was made at the St. James Catholic Church, Osu-Re by Worthy President Lt. Benjamin Acolatse, supported by Sis. Yvonne Chabah, the auxiliary president and other officers.

While making the donation on behalf of its members, Worthy President Lt. Benjamin Acolatse said the gesture is as part of its 5th anniversary charity work. “This is the first donation we are doing for our 5th Anniversary charity work. Plans are underway for other charity works”, he emphasized.

Sister Yvonne Chabah, the Auxiliary President, said although COVID-19 has hit the entire world hard, it is “the duty of the Knights and Ladies to stand firm and support the Parish”.

Sister Patience Dapaah, Past President of the Auxiliary who is also the President of Accra East District 1 Ladies Auxiliary indicated that it is a spiritual duty to help the Parish Priest take care of the church; she encouraged parishioners to come to mass since the church is a safe place.
The items which were in the form of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), for its local community included: liquid soaps, hand sanitizers, tissue papers, and a number of face masks and other valuables.

The parish priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Cudjoe while receiving the items together with lawyer Sarah Anku, the parish secretary, expressed gratitude for the gesture and prayed for God’s intervention to control the pandemic.
