Ho Diocese: 2019 pilgrimage climaxed at Agbenoxoe

Hundreds of faithful, Priests and Religious from all 30 parishes in the Ho diocese have climaxed the 2019 Diocesan pilgrimage to Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto at Kpando-Agbenoxoe.

A Marian procession from Kpando-Fesi to Agbenorxoe was marked on Saturday, December 7, 2019.  An arrival Mass and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament was held, followed by the sacrament of confession and a candle light vigil at the feet of mother Mary.

On Sunday, December 8, 2019, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu SVD,  Bishop of the Diocese led the celebration of the feast of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary to climax the pilgrimage.

In his homily, Bishop Fianu entreated the faithful to identify their missions from God and urged that they endeavour to recognize God, know His commandments and abide by the commandments to live Christ-like lives as Christians worthy of the call of God.

He also asked them to endeavour to live like saints and eschew all forms of unworthy behaviours and corrupt activities that could distance humanity from the divine love of God.

Bishop Fianu noted it was unfortunate that Christians loved to tow the path of dishonesty and blame each other for various atrocious acts. He therefore entreated the pilgrims to emulate the life of the Virgin Mary, meditate on her life and pray to God for strength in their daily lives.

The year 2020 was launched as the year of the “Word of God” to encourage the faithful to own the Bible, read it daily and pray to enable them grow their spiritual lives.

The pilgrimage ended with a special fundraising to support the development of the grotto.
