Ho: Bishop Fianu declares 2019-2020 ’Year of the word of God’

Bishop of Ho Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu has declared the 2019-2020 liturgical year as the “Year of the Word of God,” with a call on all on the faithful in the Diocese to be ardent seekers of the gospel.

Speaking at the end of the year pilgrimage at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, Kpando-Agbenorxoe last week, the prelate said, “This season of Advent to next year’s Advent has been designated as the ‘Year of the Word of God.”

Bishop Fianu said the focus for the year is expedient because the word of God is essential to the spiritual growth of everyone Christian.

He opined that several activities would be rolled out by the Diocesan Biblical Commission to commemorate the yearlong programme at the diocesan and parish levels; and thus entreated parishners to actively participate in the programme.

The “Year of the Word of God” which is being observed by the Church in Ghana and the rest of the world,  is expected to be climaxed at the national level on the Feast of St. Jerome in the Techiman Diocese on September, 30, 2020.
