Dozens attend maiden seminar for the unmarried; ‘Singles Time with God’

Dozens of young people over the weekend joined the maiden edition of Hopes Arena’s seminar for singles at the St. Thomas Aquinas Chaplaincy, Legon.

Dubbed “Singles Time with God,” the programme had seasoned speakers leading sessions on being the spouse God wants you to be, and what one must do now and then to become a fulfilled spouse. Prominent in the seminar was the need for people to take well-thought decisions in life and to stick with the decision.

Mr. Frank Dadzie, in the talk “Becoming the spouse God wants you to be” shared ways to become the kind of spouse God requires – being a person of your word, being sexually pure, loving truly, being hardworking, earning an income and being spiritually strong.

“Be content once you have decided to marry since you will always meet people who may be better than their spouses,” he said to the gathering.

Mrs. Pascaline Songsore Atuguba, in her talk titled “The single lady: what must I do now and then to become a fulfilled wife”, looked at fulfillment as a journey, a decision and an effort. She shared some personal experiences of the need to adjust in marriage. Additionally, she told participants to know their true selves, have biblical role models and develop a life of constant prayer.

For his part, Rev. Fr. Daniel Attipoe encouraged participants to decide and be intentional about learning and preparing for marriage and life afterwards. He led them in a time of prayer.

The programme came off at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Legon on Saturday, 22nd February 2020.

Aside unmarried youth, the gathering was graced by married mentors and members of the clergy.

Hopes Arena is a Catholic Christian ministry led by lay minister Peter Owusu-Ansah author of  “Purpose Unlocked” and “Before and after you say I do”.
