The piece comprises three sections with a free digital download providing a collection of prayers, intercessions, supplications, and homilies which the Holy Father believed can aid the spiritual journey of Catholics and keep them in communion with God amidst the global struggle.

The first part of the piece is dedicated to prayers for difficult times inspired by Catholic tradition: blessings for the sick, liberation from evil, and other texts from ecclesial contexts and historical tradition.

The second section is also dedicated to the indications given by the Church on how people can continue to live out a sacramental life even though coronavirus precautionary measures do not permit their physical participation in them. It focuses on elements that foster spiritual communion with the Church, and how to obtain forgiveness from sin despite the impossibility of receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

The final section contains the words of the Holy Father given in these times of trial, starting from March 9. It features his homilies from Mass at the Casa Santa Marta and his Sunday Angelus discourses.

The 192-page book has been made available for download free of charge on the website of the Vatican’s publishing house, Libreria Editrice Vaticana, in PDF format. It is currently available in English, Italian, Spanish, and French. A Portuguese version will be published soon.
