COVID-19: NCS responds to lockdown, set to feed and provide shelter for less privileged

The National Catholic Secretariat in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its recent harsh toll on the Ghanaian economy is set to embark on humanitarian service to reach out to the needy amidst the lockdown announced earlier by the state.

The outfit in a statement dated March 27, explained that, the leadership of the Church in Ghana among other stakeholders are making concerted efforts to put measures in place to make resources available for persons in need which however comes at a huge cost.

In carrying out this exercise, the National Catholic Secretariat has made an ardent plea to the Catholic community and the general public to support by donating in kind and cash to help materialize the exercise.

“Against this background, the National Catholic Secretariat has the blessing of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference to make this special appeal to all Catholic organisations, businesses, the faithful and any person who stands in a position to assist one way or the other by donating any of the PPEs listed below to the 46 Hospitals and 83 clinics of the National Catholic Health Service”, they appealed.
