COVID-19 is real, Go for test – Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza

The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Rev Stephen Dami Mamza, CAN Chairman, Adamawa State has tested positive for COVID-19.

A press release from the Bishop office indicated that Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed that Adamawa State CAN Chairman and Catholic Bishop of Yola, Most Rev’d Dr Stephen Dami Mamza is positive for COVID-19.

The CAN Chairman, who is also a member of the Adamawa State COVID-19 committee in a press release today August 23, 2020, confirmed the NCDC results, and announced that he has decided to go into total isolation.

“One lesson that I want people to appreciate and understand is that everybody has to make himself available for testing if need be”.
While noting that testing positive for the virus was not a death sentence, the Bishop urged people to pray for him and all who tested positive.

He urged the general public to take preventive protocols seriously in order to help stop the spread of the pandemic.
Bishop Hamza said, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols, he went into self-isolation and have already started treatments.
