COVID-19: Accra Archdiocese takes a step further to support the vulnerable

 

Most Rev John Bonaventure Kwofie, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra on Monday April 20, donated food items to assist the “needy” within the Archdiocese’s jurisdiction.

The items spanning from bags of rice, oil, sardines among others were presented to fifteen (15) parishes and institutions to be distributed to the poor and the vulnerable parishioners in some identified areas.

The gesture forms part of the Archdiocese’s response to cushion members amidst the novel coronavirus.

Monday’s gesture is the second time the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra is reaching out to individuals who have been financially impaired by the pandemic.

Monday’s offer was mapped out for St Peter-Tema-New Town, St. Dominic-Dawhenya, St. John the Baptist- Prampram and St. Mary-Koluedor.
Others are St. Peter Claver-Ada Foah, St. Joseph-Vume, St. Maria Goretti-Battor, St. John Vianney Asutsuare, and St. Andrew -Kordiabe

St. Dominic Savio-Afienya, St. Agnes-Dodowa, Holy Trinity-Adjei Kojo, St. Joseph-Medie,House of Saint Francis-Ashaiman respectively benefited from the offer.

Meanwhile Caritas Office of Accra is to assist with the direct urgent requests from people from all sect who may be in need of assistance during the crisis.
