Children Urged To Resist Belief In Witchcraft As They Grow In Christ

Catholic children in Malawi have been advised to accept the love of Jesus Christ, pray together, offer services that propagate the Gospel and resist belief in witchcraft as they grow into fully formed Christians.

Most Rev. Martin Mtumbuka, Bishop of Karonga Diocese made the call at the celebration of the Solemnity of the Epiphany of The Lord, a feast for children as missionaries to the whole world.

Children at their tender age have a role to play in preaching the Gospel and starting early helps them to learn about Christ and practice what the Gospel teaches.

Solemnity of the Epiphany of The Lord is a feast day that celebrates the revelation (theophany) of God incarnate as Jesus Christ. … Eastern Christians, on the other hand, commemorate the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River, seen as His manifestation to the world as the Son of God.
