Centenary celebration of Apostleship of the Sea launched

The Apostleship of the Sea (AoS) /Stella Maris, Ghana has launched its centenary celebration on the theme “remember the past, celebrate the present, chart the future” at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Tema on October 22, 2019.

The ceremony was graced by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra and the Bishop promoter of the Apostleship of the Sea, Ghana, Most Rev. Bonaventure Kwofie and was chaired by Capt. Aaron Tuckson who has a 15 years’ experience in Seafaring.

The Chairman in his address appreciated the efforts of the Apostleship of the Sea for the enormous support given to seafarer’s and called for generous contributions to improve the work of the AoS.

19th December,2019 -End of Year Thanksgiving Mass with GPHA Catholic Community.

JANUARY 2020

21st January, 2020 -Mass with Fisher Folks and Families at Teshie, Saint Ann and Joachim Parish.

31st January, 2020- Panel Discussion @ RMU: Not On my Watch: “Anxiety and Depression related Disorders among seafarers and fisher folks and other stake holders in the maritime industry”.

FEBRUARY 2020

1st February 2020- St. Thomas Aquinas Day Program with Students.

22nd February, 2020 Quarterly Counseling and Human Development Program. Experience Sharing Seminar for Actors in the Maritime industry (Fishers and Seafarers and all other stakeholders). Venue: NAFAG AUDITORIUM

SEPTEMBER 2020

18th September 2020- Career fair for Tema NewTown Basic School Children at Saint Peters Parish.

20th September 2020 – Climax of the Centenary Celebration (Locally, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church)

Invitation to the Coastal Dioceses to Accra for the Climax.

OCTOBER 2020

4th October 2020- Preparation and Departure to Glasgow for the Centenary Celebration.
