Catholic Diocese Of Kakamega Launches Strategic Plan 2019-2023

The Catholic Diocese of Kakamega has launched its strategic plan 2019-2023 aimed at enhancing faith and promoting integral human development.

Speaking during the ceremony marked at St Joseph’s Cathedral on 26th August 2019 Archbishop of Kisumu Most Rev. Philip Anyolo appreciated the initiative of developing a strategic plan which serves as a road map for the Catholic Diocese of Kakamega in the development, implementation, review and evaluation of its Socio-Pastoral work in the Diocese.

At the same time, ground breaking for the cathedral mall estimated to cost 400 million took place. The mall is a Diocesan Self-Reliance project towards sustainability.

Archbishop Anyolo therefore urged the faithful to work together towards the project that he said would change the face of Kakamega.

Echoing the theme of the just concluded Diocesan Synod of Kakamega, He called upon all to embrace “Our Diocese, Our Faith and Responsibility” which will steer up positive generous contributions towards the development of the Diocese.

The Archbishop called upon the priests to be on the forefront in realising the great dream of the Diocese by thinking, speaking and acting in faith.

In his remarks, the Bishop ok Kakamega Rt. Rev. Joseph Obanyi thanked the Archbishop for accepting his invitation to grace the occasion of strategic plan launch and ground breaking of the self-reliance projects of the Diocese and expressed gratitude to priests, religious and the laity of the Diocese of Kakamega for their support in realizing the need for self-reliance in the church.

Bishop Obanyi also thanked various partners who had contributed immensely towards the production of the strategic plan of the Diocese especially CAFOD, CRS and Caritas.

He appealed to the faithful to embrace the strategic plan 2019-2023 as a tool of evangelisation calling on them to receive and allow the strategic plan to guide them to participate actively and realise the great command of Jesus Christ who assures us that he will be with us to the end.
