Archbishop Kwofie cuts sod for the construction of a new Friary

Most Rev John Bonaventure Kwofie, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra on Wednesday, May 6 manned a sod cutting ceremony for the construction of a new Friary in the Archdiocese of Accra for the Franciscan Brothers and, as well house the Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church- Anyaa.

Speaking at the ceremony, Archbishop Kwofie mentioned that the edifice will facilitate the activities of the Parish Priest and his brothers and urged the community to rededicate their lives to the church and live in unity,

Present at the ceremony were the Assistant General for Africa, Friar Kutiero Bezo, the Vicar Provincial Custos, Friar Eugene Antwi Boasiako, the secretary to the Archbishop, Rev. Father Anthony Agnes and some other Franciscan Friar, P.P.C Chairman of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church-Anyaa, Lawyer Richard Dery, the Church Pastoral Council Chairman of St. Clare of Assisi, Mr. David kpanja, the contractor, the Project Committee members and some parishioners of the Assisi Community.

Friar Eugene Antwi Boasiako, Parish Priest of the church, thanked the Archbishop for his support and encouraged individuals present to continue adhering to the precautionary measures as directed by the President in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
