African Bishops reflect on ‘the Church, a people among nations,’ serve the poor in Rome

A total of fifty Catholic Bishops from different parts of Africa were in Rome from 31st January to 1st February 2020 at the invitation of the Community of Sant’Egidio to reflect and share on the theme: “The Church, a People Among Nations”.

Reflections were given also on these sub-themes: “The Shepherd and His City”; “Church, Africa, World”, followed by animated discussions, communal prayers and Eucharistic celebrations.

The Bishops and Archbishops also went in groups to visit and serve the poor in some parts of Rome: house of the elderly, house of the disabled, house of the sick, centre for refugees and migrants.
