New Executives of the Accra Archdiocesan branch of the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Society have been inducted into office by the Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie.

The Executives are Opanin Georgina Addo Tawiah, President; Opanin Alice Yana, Vice President; Opanin Francisca Quansah, Secretary; Opanin Nancy Imbrah, Assistant Secretary; Opanin Veronica Anarfo; Financial Secretary; Opanin Era Sarfoah, Treeasurer; Esther Dornor, Public Relations Officer; Jane Zormelo, Chaplain; Lydia Aretuo, Assistant Chaplain; Esme Aboagye, Porter; Akosua Boahemaa Sosu, Assitant Porter and Opanin Mamaa Rosa Sam, Immediate past President. Organisers also inducted were Paul Baah, Lawrence Appiadu, Samuel Asare and Rony Asare.

Inducting them at their Feast day celebration, at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Accra, the Archbishop urged them work in unity and love for the growth of the Society.

Opanin Addo Tawiah thanked the outgone executives for raising the image of the society and pledged to work hard for the growth of the society especially ensuring that many of the members become communicants through the organisation of a mass wedding.

On the Feast day celebration, Archbishop Kwofie asked the members to emulate St. Theresa of the Child Jesus’ virtues of humility, simplicity and self-sacrifice, urging them to train the young ones in the Society for a better future. He said without that the future might be bleak for them.

He urged them to continue to do little things in extraordinary ways by extending their support also the Convents and Novitiates and admonished them to avoid self-centred lives and greed which give birth to corruption and other evils in society.

Obaapanin Gloria Kwasie, the Grand National President, thanked God for giving strength to members to live by the values of their Patron Saint by praying for the Priests and Religious as well as doing “our bit in our own small little ways with extraordinary love in helping the needy in our communities in the footsteps of St. Theresa.”

She announced that the Chapel project started by the Society in 2014 at Gbetsile near Michel Camp had reached the roofing stage and commended members for their support and called on them to continue contributing towards the completion of the Chapel in the nearest future.
