Parishioners of the Christ the King Catholic Church, Cantonments, Accra have embarked on a project dubbed, “The Mission Project.”
This project, which is in conjunction with the Mother and Father of the Year 2019 of the parish, is an outreach program to the homeless, poor and needy at the Kanda underpass, Accra, as part of activities of the Extraordinary Mission month of the parish.
Some activities parishioners undertook includes Medical Screening, interactive sessions, distribution of food and clothing and the sharing of the Word of God to the less fortunate they encountered.
Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell, S.V.D., the Parish Priest of Christ the King Catholic Church led the members of the parish, some of which were Medical Practitioners and other professionals, to offer various services to about two hundred (200) homeless individuals they encountered.
The beneficiaries of this exercise expressed delight and joy to the kind gesture of the members of the church. They asked for more from other organized bodies.
